Bendigo Vintage Talking Tram Tour

Sit back, relax and let the tram do all the talking ... Be delighted by the wide streetscapes and grand architecture of Bendigo as your tram tells you entertaining stories about a city founded on one of the world’s richest goldfields. Stopping throughout the city, this tour allows you to get on or off the tram at any stop and wander through the city at your leisure, enjoying the many attractions, shopping and dining facilities that Bendigo has to offer.

Bendigo Depot and Workshop Tour

You will be in awe at Australia’s oldest operating Tram Depot as you are taken on a guided tour, dwarfed by the many trams which live here, each with their own story to tell. See first-hand the craftsmanship and techniques that are involved in restoring each tram to its former glory and hear colourful stories of how Bendigo’s tramway has survived to the present day. Bendigo’s fleet of Vintage ‘Talking’ Trams have all been restored here. The workshop also carries out restoration works for other depots and museums around Australia and overseas.

Bendigo Joss House Temple

Discover more about the Chinese migrants who came to Bendigo in search of gold so long ago. The Bendigo Joss House Temple, a Chinese place of worship, was constructed in the late 1860s and is one of the few remaining original buildings of its type in Australia. It comprises a caretaker’s residence, temple and ancestral hall. The main temple is dedicated to Guan-Di, the god of war and prosperity.

Mine Experience Tour at Central Deborah Gold Mine

Don a hard hat and miner's lamp, descend 61 metres beneath the surface to Level 2 of the mine and be guided through the honeycomb of tunnels where almost one ton of gold was unearthed and discover what conditions as a miner were really like during the harsh gold rush era. Children need to be at least three years of age to complete this tour. Central Deborah Gold Mine was awarded Victorian Heritage and Cultural Tourism Attraction of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
