Adelaide Zoo is home to over 1,800 animals and almost 300 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited in 8 hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings. Animals who call the Adelaide Zoo home include the ever-popular giant pandas Wang Wang and Funi (Australia's only giant pandas) plus lions, tigers, wild dogs, giraffes, hippos, kangaroos, koalas, orangutans, flamingos, frogs, anacondas and more.
Monarto Open Range Zoo is a 1,000 hectare open-range sanctuary undertaking a major role nationally and internationally in breeding programs for rare and endangered species. The residents at Monarto include bisons, cheetahs, chimpanzees, meerkats, rhinos and wallabies.
